Riane Eisler

Co-Founder, Center for Partnership Studies

In 1985, Riane Eisler wrote The Chalice and the Blade, which became a classic of modern feminist literature.

She showed that the opposite of patriarchy is not matriarchy, it is partnership.

Her ongoing work is studying societies and how cultural norms of dominance can be changed. The Center has done extensive research demonstrating that societies that provide full rights and priviledges for women produce a higher quality of life for all its citizens.

Her most recent book is The Real Wealth of Nations, which draws on her research.

Riane was kind enough to invite us to her home in California for this important interview.

Her website is partnershipway.org.
