Note - We are emailing only the first few paragraphs of Newsletters going forward, with a link to view the entire letter on the wholewoman.com/newpages/newsletter/ site. I’ll explain the reason for this below.
The reason we are making this change is that we are working hard to minimize the risk of any further blacklisting of our email such as we experienced back in April on our new mailing platform. The "spam police" agency that blacklisted us did research the event and determined that the problem was not our fault and did subsequently “whitelist” us.
We have always worked hard to be sure the only people on our list are those who want to be there, and of course, we always include an unsubscribe link as required by US law.
But one of the things that anti-spam agencies look for is “engagement”. That means how many of our email recipients actually respond in some way to our emails. If our engagement level is low, that makes them worry about the quality of our list and raises our risk of being blacklisted.
We are blessed with many wonderful women who have been faithfully on our list for years but may not have “engaged” with our emails for some time. Thank you for engaging by clicking the link and reading the rest of the newsletter on the Whole Woman site.
If you are like me, your email has been bombarded recently by companies you don’t ever remember having anything to do with, informing you that they are updating their privacy policies.
This is because, effective May 25, the European Union will start enforcing the General Data Protection Regulation, or GDPR.
This regulation, spanning almost 100 pages, is designed to improve transparency and privacy about the data that are being collected about us every day. It gives us the option of seeing what data has been collected, deleting it, or sending it to a third party. There is more to it than that, but that appears to be the gist of it.
The reason everyone is taking this so seriously is because the fines for non-compliance run US$ 20 million or 4% of the business’s gross sales, whichever is greater.
While technically the GDPR only applies to Europeans, in this interconnected world, you can’t always tell if someone on your site is European or not.
The reality is there is much about the GDPR which is ambiguous and will no doubt take years to litigate and clarify. But the general intent is laudable.
We should be able to know who is collecting what information on us, and have some say in how that data is used.
Whole Woman Program Reminders
Just a quick reminder that the 2019 Whole Woman Practitioner Training information and application package is now available. If you have thought about Practitioner Training, please download and study the package today. Here’s the link.
The Whole Woman Workshop in Albuquerque, August 10-12 promises to be a powerful and intimate gathering of women who are committed to maximizing their quality of life through natural pelvic health. I hope you’ll join us. It’s going to be a life-changing session. Here’s the link.
Have you considered a consultation with me at some point in the past? The Flash Sale US$ 50 discount only is available until June 1st. On receipt of your order, Lanny will be in touch to schedule your consultation. Here’s the link.
Just enter MemDay in the coupon code box. For those of you outside the US, Monday is our Memorial Day, a national holiday of remembrance for those who have given their lives in the military service of our country. Thus the coupon code designation.
First Aid for Prolapse Update
When I published the new version of First Aid for Prolapse, which replaced The Whole Woman Solution to Pelvic Organ Prolapse, I left some important tools and techniques out.
In the meantime, I have made startling discoveries about breathing and walking that need to be shared. So creating the fifth module for First Aid has turned into a much bigger project than I had anticipated.
To complicate getting this done, I have two women in this week for a Whole Woman Works! program, which is all-consuming for three days.
So I anticipate shooting on Sunday, June 3rd. It will take a few days for Lanny to do the post-production work. So I should be able to release module 5 toward the end of that week.
Please be aware that it is a free upgrade for owners of the First Aid for Prolapse video course only (not the former First Aid for Prolapse DVD or streaming video) and will be added automatically to their accounts. The walking and breathing component will be added to Saving the Post-Hysterectomy Woman, Save Your Hips, and Whole Woman Solution to Urinary Incontinence programs as well as a free upgrade.
The Whole Woman Website
Lanny is working hard on the new Whole Woman website. Hopefully it will be much clearer and easier to navigate for women who are finding Whole Woman for the first time. It will likely be another month or so.
On the Home Front
Four of our five kitties have been given to loving homes who report being “besotted” with their new charges. We are left with little Harlequin, or Harley, our funny little calico who is endlessly entertaining, even if she does drive her mama crazy. But then, that’s what kids do, right?
We miss our little Edith, Walter, George, and Phoebe, but we’re thrilled to have found among our friends loving homes for them all and that the two natural dyads, Edith and Walter, and George and Phoebe, will be kept together.
Our baby chicks are growing like weeds. Auntie Lulu has been largely ignoring them, which is much better than the alternative of henpecking. Lulu is a noble bird and has always been the alpha chicken, but not at all aggressive.
It will be a few weeks before the babies are big enough that they can’t slip out of the aviary, so we keep them in an enclosed area below their house. We’ve been letting them out in the evenings and keeping Clara the cat inside the house, as she was taking way too much interest in the baby chicks.
I’ll be sending out an email Monday on behalf of a woman in the UK who is putting on an interesting online conference composed of interviews with a variety of women, including yours truly.
The conference is free, and I do hope you’ll check it out.
As always, my heartfelt gratitude to all of you who make Whole Woman possible. I know how difficult prolapse, incontinence, and hip pain can be. But you are not alone. Please don’t struggle alone. At the very least, reach out on the Whole Woman Forum. Or reach out to us to see the many ways we can help. In the meantime, as always…
Wishing you well,
